An expense tracker you'll actually keep using.
I built Monavo because I kept giving up on expense apps.
I'm Roland Moldovan, a developer from Romania, and I build Monavo on my own, from the code to the launch. It started as a personal problem, probably the same one you have. Every expense app I tried ended the same way: I'd connect a bank, the sync would break or lag, duplicates would pile up, and after a few weeks of fixing them I'd stop opening the app. The tracking wasn't hard. The upkeep was.
I didn't want Monavo to collect transactions quietly in the background. I wanted the few seconds you spend logging something to be useful on their own: a small moment where you actually notice what you just spent. Automatic imports take that moment away, and with it most of the reason to track at all. So the whole app is built around making that moment as short as possible and keeping it.
Monavo launched on the App Store and Google Play in May 2026.
You type what you spent — coffee 15 — and it's logged and sorted into a category. That's the whole interaction. Budgets, recurring bills and a few plain-sentence insights sit on top of it, and two people can share one budget from their own phones. The homepage shows the rest.
Monavo doesn't connect to your bank, by design. You enter the expense yourself, so you know what you actually spent, cash included, and you're never dependent on a bank connection or an aggregator staying alive.
Why Monavo skips bank linking →
The last one is the point. Most people don't fail to start tracking their spending; they start, and then stop.
Monavo has a free version that never expires. Pro adds cloud backup and sync, a higher quick-add limit and CSV import and export; there's also a pay-once Lifetime plan. The full plans are in the pricing section.
Monavo is available for iPhone and Android, in English, Romanian, Spanish, French, German and Portuguese.
Monavo is a one-person project. I build it, write this site, read every email and decide what gets built next. If something doesn't work for you, tell me — support@getmonavo.com or the contact form. I read every message.
